“I value principles of Ubuntu and have a strong belief that it is these principles that will guide the regression of social, political and economic injustices in our country. I also appreciate Siyazisiza's vision of networks of young, Black entrepreneurs taking over the farming industry in new and exciting ways.”
Nomzamo Kheswa, Head of Fundraising & Media Marketing
Nomzamo joined Siyazisiza in September 2019, having first started her career doing qualitative research. She completed her studies in Industrial Sociology, at Rhodes University, and is grateful for the opportunities that have exposed her to South Africa, in all its nuances, contradictions and complexities. Her first stint as a field worker at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) exposed her to the depths of South Africa’s issues and the role of qualitative research. Nomzamo appreciates the opportunity she was afforded to engage with people with different experiences and outlooks on challenges in the country.
In joining Siyazisiza, Nomzamo was deliberate in shifting her career from being an expert at problematizing, to opening up and learning to be an expert in the world of implementing actionable solutions and reaping tangible results.
